Low Light Love.
Yesterday I added some new gear to my set up, getting a Nikon 50mm f/1.8G. I originally wanted to get this lens for portraits as the wide aperture gives a really great bokeh when shooting wide open, but this lens is also incredible in low light situations too.
These photos were all taken at night, with no flash, just the lens wide open with a higher ISO setting. I can't get over how sharp this lens is in all situations. It's going to make for taking some stunning portraits.
If you don't have something like this lens in your kit already I would highly recommend picking something like this up. It was a debate between the 50mm or the 85mm and I chose the 50mm because it will allow me to get some photos of things closer up when there is limited space, where with the 85mm you would have to have a fair bit of space to get everything into the frame.
All these shots were taken in downtown Fredericton as I walked around in the heavy snow. If you're into photography at all, don't let the weather discourage you from getting out! You never know when that perfect moment might strike! I'll hopefully be getting some more photos with this lens soon to share!
