Out in Ottawa
You know how they say you don't really appreciate something until it's gone? Well that's kinda how I feel about Ottawa. I was back there for a about 2 weeks, and every time I go back I appreciate it a bit more. I had a lot of life changing things happen in Ottawa that, while I lived there, made me not too fond of the place. That said, there is something about being in a place with so much variety, in places to go, things to do and, most importantly, things to eat!
While I was in town, I got a chance to practice some portrait photography, admittedly not one of my strong suits. Driving to Ottawa it hit me that I knew the perfect couple to practice with, Cooper and Jillian! I worked with both these guys at Futureshop and I have to say that they are two truly amazing people. They were fun, cute and did anything I asked them to, what more could you want from subjects?! If you wanna see the full set of photos check them out here.
I am tired of winter, pretty sure we all are at this point. But there is something about winter on a frozen lake out in the middle of nowhere that is kinda special. I got to stay at this lake, Silverlake, with Tim & Holly who were kind enough to open up their home. They moved back to Ontario in December to be part of Ellel Ministries, a retreat centre nestled in Westport ONT. I've known Tim since my senior year in high school when he interned at my church. It's always awesome to get to spend time with him, have great talks and just all around have fun. Make sure you keep a look out for his maple syrup in stores, it will be 100% pure, organic and gluten-free, right Tim? :)
And of course, the most important reason to go to Ottawa! He grows so much every time I get to see him, and also he always seems to be sick when I am around...luckily I haven't gotten it...yet. Obviously living this far away from Owen has been a struggle, but I cherish every moment I get to spend with him and we make memories every time we are together. Taking him to the Museum of Science and Technology was awesome, he especially loved the trains and well, anything with wheels!
Thanks Ottawa! Be back again soon!
