The Harvest Jazz & Blues Festival has become something that I look forward to being involved with every year. Experiencing great music in a city that absolutely buzzes for a week, makes for great photo opportunities that would make any photographer excited to have the chance to capture.
This year, Harvest's 25th Anniversary, will be my third year shooting the festival. My first year at Harvest was one of my first experiences shooting a live event, and apparently I did a decent enough job to be asked back the following year. The second go around I had a better idea of how I wanted to shoot the bands, what my style was. Out of that, if you look at a Harvest poster or booklet for this coming September, you're more then likely looking at one of my photos.
This year, my friends at Harvest asked if I could help them out with a merchandise photoshoot, again something I have never done. We had a lot of fun and I think that things turned out pretty well! It is always a bit unnerving when you're trying something for the first time, but its challenges that push you to be better at what you do. So thanks Harvest for giving me chances to grow in my craft and I can't wait until September!
